Our Work
Turtle Walker Impact Campaign
Turning Storytelling Into Conservation Action
The Turtle Walker Impact Campaign was born from the award-winning documentary Turtle Walker, which tells the remarkable story of Satish Bhaskar, a pioneering conservationist whose work transformed our understanding of sea turtles in India. While the film celebrates one individual's extraordinary commitment to conservation, the impact campaign extends that legacy beyond the screen and into meaningful action.
At Jnana Foundation, we believe that powerful stories can inspire meaningful change. The Turtle Walker Impact Campaign leverages the film as a catalyst to build awareness, strengthen conservation efforts, and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. Through impact screenings, educational programs, strategic partnerships, and community engagement initiatives, the campaign creates opportunities for audiences to connect with conservation challenges and become part of the solution.
The campaign has helped foster collaborations between conservation organisations, supported marine protection initiatives, contributed to marine education efforts, and inspired thousands of people through screenings across India and internationally. By connecting storytelling with action, we aim to create lasting benefits for marine ecosystems, coastal communities, and future generations.

Waste Management Projects
Creating Practical Solutions for Cleaner Communities
Effective waste management is one of the most pressing environmental challenges facing communities, businesses, and ecosystems today. Poor waste practices contribute to pollution, threaten biodiversity, impact public health, and place increasing pressure on natural resources. Addressing these challenges requires more than infrastructure alone—it requires awareness, participation, and long-term behavioural change.
Jnana Foundation works with corporate partners, hospitality groups, educational institutions, residential communities, and local stakeholders to design and implement customised waste management and sustainability initiatives. Our approach combines practical solutions with community engagement to create measurable and lasting impact.
Our projects may include waste audits, segregation and recycling systems, awareness campaigns, employee engagement programs, clean-up initiatives, and sustainability workshops. We work closely with partners to understand their specific challenges and develop solutions that are both effective and locally relevant.
By helping organisations reduce waste, improve resource management, and engage their communities in environmental stewardship, we contribute to cleaner landscapes, healthier ecosystems, and more sustainable communities across Goa and Maharashtra.
-Marine & Plastic Education Workshops
Inspiring the Next Generation of Ocean Stewards
Children and young people growing up today will inherit the responsibility of protecting our oceans and natural ecosystems. Creating meaningful environmental change therefore begins with education that goes beyond facts and figures to foster empathy, curiosity, and a personal connection to nature.
Jnana Foundation's Marine and Plastic Education Workshops are designed to help students understand the importance of healthy oceans and the challenges posed by plastic pollution. Through engaging, age-appropriate, and locally relevant learning experiences, participants explore the interconnected relationship between human actions and marine ecosystems.
Our workshops combine storytelling, games, films, art activities, discussions, Virtual Reality experiences, and hands-on learning to make environmental education interactive and memorable. Students learn about marine biodiversity, the impacts of plastic pollution, sustainable waste practices, and simple actions they can take to make a difference in their daily lives.
By encouraging curiosity and fostering a sense of responsibility, these workshops aim to empower young people to become informed, engaged, and proactive stewards of their environment.
-Marine Stewardship Initiatives
Strengthening Ocean Conservation Through Collaboration
Healthy oceans are essential for biodiversity, climate resilience, food security, and the wellbeing of millions of people who depend on coastal and marine ecosystems. Yet marine environments face growing threats from pollution, habitat degradation, unsustainable practices, and climate change.
Jnana Foundation supports a range of marine stewardship initiatives that seek to protect and restore marine ecosystems while strengthening the connection between people and the ocean. We work alongside conservation organisations, researchers, educators, government agencies, and coastal communities to identify opportunities for meaningful conservation action and long-term stewardship.
Our initiatives include supporting marine conservation partnerships, promoting ocean literacy, strengthening community engagement, advancing habitat protection efforts, and developing programs that encourage responsible environmental practices. Through projects such as the Turtle Walker Impact Campaign and other collaborative conservation efforts, we help build awareness, inspire action, and contribute to the protection of India's rich marine heritage.
By bringing together diverse stakeholders and perspectives, we aim to create lasting conservation outcomes that benefit both marine ecosystems and the communities that depend upon them.
